Public Weymouth Seafront
Won in an open design competition, the Weymouth Seafront fulfils the local council’s brief for a bold modern statement to compliment the town’s listed Georgian promenade.
The scheme proposes three new buildings to replace the current Tourism Centre/Cafe, life guard post/boat shed, and the sand sculpture pavilion. Each building is conceived as a flowing landform at the interface of the town and the beach, to be constructed in reinforced concrete, and designed to create a wave of new buildings within the renovated seafront landscaping.
