A shortlisted competition proposal to extend the Hallé St Peter’s music studio and performance hall in Ancoats, Manchester.

The single storey glazed pavilion-like structure runs along the front of the church, where a cantilevered canopy is punctuated by a tower containing stacked acoustic spaces.

The acoustic canopy projects over the public realm, providing cover for outside performance opportunities, whilst the latticework of the tower’s terracotta brise soleil filters views by day and reveals activity within at night.
