Architecture and Music Walking Tour: Musicity
Paul Bavister leads a musical walking tour through South London
21st Jun 2018
On Sunday 1st July, Senior Associate Director Paul Bavister will be joining BBC Radio 3 presenter and Musicity founder Nick Luscombe to conduct a tour of architecture, sound art, and architecture-inspired music in South London.
Musicity invites musicians and recording artists to compose tracks in response to buildings and locations in cities around the world, with the aim of supporting and promoting new music, and also to transform the experience of listening to it. Utilising expertise in architecture, music and acoustics, Musicity seeks to link the understanding of music and space, and their production of each other.
A series of compositions from new and interesting artists have been commissioned that are directly related to specific sites in Southwark. The resultant site specific works utilise the acoustic properties of a given space – and in the process revealing new understandings of architecture and its potential.
The tour will be taking place in Bankside and Borough on the 1st July. Tickets can be booked here: https://www.architecture.com/whats-on/architecture-and-music-walking-tour-musicity
