Alto Development in the Press

Our Wembley residential project is featured in Building magazine

25th Jul 2018

Following on from Alto’s Development of the Year prize at the RESI Awards, the project has been featured in Building magazine. In his article, ‘For a New Generation’, Ike Ijeh looks at Alto’s precedent-setting role as a Private Rented Sector development, and its architectural and civic impact within the ongoing Wembley redevelopment.

The Private Rented Sector (PRS) apartments are run by Quintain’s dedicated rental management company, Tipi. Alto is the first of Flanagan Lawrence’s residential developments in the area, which will ultimately see Wembley Park become the UK’s largest PRS development, with over 5,000 new rental homes. As such, the building showcases the particular requirements and benefits of the typology, from communal spaces, to shared services, and carefully-detailed apartments.

Highlighting Alto’s careful integration into the public realm, and the variety of community and residential amenities provided, Ijeh writes: ‘Alto proves that the sector clearly provides an opportunity for residential to animate the public realm in a new, innovative and engaging way.’
