As day one of the World Architecture Festival kicks off in Berlin, it’s a good time to take a look at our past successes at this annual event.
Starting in 2012, our Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Soundforms projects were shortlisted for the Built – Culture category, with the latter receiving a high commendation.
In 2014 it was Acoustic Shells’ turn, with this stage and shelter nominated for Built – Culture, and receiving a high commendation for Built – Small Spaces. Following the project’s exposure at WAF, the Acoustic Shells went on to feature in an array of online and print publications, culminating in shortlisting for the Stephen Lawrence prize.
Finally, last year saw Wembley Theatre receive a commendation for the Future – Culture category, and the Shepherds Bush Pavilion Hotel nominated for a fantastic three awards, including two for WAF’s sister festival of interiors, INSIDE. This refurbished former cinema won the INSIDE award for the Creative – Reuse category, a brilliant feat for the highly innovative and complex scheme.
In 2016, we continue our strong history with the event, with 3 of our projects nominated – Live Works, Szczecin Ampitheatre, and Wembley Park Masterplan….
