The development involved the demolition of an existing 1980’s office building, Aldwych House, and the reinstatement of 100,000 sqft grade A commercial office space.

The new building comprises six floors, and includes car parking and ancillary accommodation at basement level. The office floor plates provide flexible office accommodation with minimal internal columns, and a high level of natural light due to an internal light well.

The site is adjacent to the Grade 2* listed Alfred Waterhouse Town Hall and several other buildings of historic importance. The façade design of the new office building is inspired by the masonry façades of these surrounding buildings, with copper panels replicating the depth and tonal colours of the neighbouring historic brickwork.

At various levels the building cuts back in plan, with the resulting roof terraces providing landscaped amenity spaces. A double height entrance at the corner of the building will be a distinctive townscape element, clearly visible from the main transport interchanges nearby.

The building achieved BREEAM Excellent.
